What is Female Ejaculation?

Female ejaculation (or squirting) occurs when fluid is forcefully expelled through the urethra during sex. Scientists still disagree about what exactly makes up ejaculation in women and people assigned female at birth. Many sex educators and medical professionals believe it is a mixture of diluted urine and prostatic fluid.

G Spot Stimulation

Regardless of the chemistry of female ejaculate, many people find it to be a pleasurable experience. G-spot stimulation is often a necessary component for the ejaculation, often called squirting. A proper g-spot vibrator can help a person can learn to squirt solo or with a partner.

What Can It Feel Like?

The sensation of pressure on the g-spot can often feel like needing to urinate. If you notice that, don’t fight against that sensation. Rather allow yourself to relax and enjoy it. When you orgasm, push out and bear down. Some sex educators call this “giving birth to your orgasm.

Squirting May Take Practice

As you orgasm, allow the fluid to flow out of the urethra. It’s likely nothing will happen during your first attempt. Don’t worry. If you don’t enjoy the experience, don’t stress about it. Not everyone likes the sensation (or clean up) that comes with squirting. With practice you can learn how to withhold and control ejaculation.

Cultural & Social Notes promoting Sexual Positivity

A note about gender and sexual fluidity: Nothing is usually set in black and white. Like life, gender and sexuality come in all variations (the "50 Shades of Grey" title makes a little more sense now, right?) There are many people who don't identify as the gender most often associated with their personal sexual organs. A person may also be straight, gay, or anywhere on the spectrum in between.
